Ellen’s Labradoodles is a labor of love for all the family members. Ellen, a retired labor and delivery nurse, has fallen in love with doodle puppies and brings her medical expertise and knowledge to the breeding operation. She closely monitors the labor of the bitch as well as assists with the delivery and early post whelping period. The delivering bitch and her litter are veterinarian checked within 24 hours of whelping. Follow-up care including worming of bitch and puppies, dew claw removal and first immunizations are given at the appropriate time intervals. Each puppy is weighed and carefully monitored for weight loss. Hand feeding may be necessary with large litters and is offered as often as every 2 hours when needed.
In addition to the physical tasks of caring for the new mom and Labradoodle puppies, the entire family assists with hands on care and provides a loving environment. Both mom and puppies are acclimated to socially interact with family members as soon as it is considered prudent and safe. Hands are washed before and after handling the puppies, papers and mats are changed often and plenty of fresh food and water is readily available.
Ellen’s Labradoodles is located in Sparta, Michigan, (see map) a town just north of Grand Rapids, Michigan. When the puppies are old enough to venture outside, they play on our partially wooded 3 acre home site. Plenty of fresh air, romps in the woods and playful exercise contribute to the general good health and nature of our puppies and adult dogs.
All this to ensure that each one of our lovable Labradoodle puppies is happy, healthy, and ready to become an adored member of your family.
