We Love Our Labradoodles
Maize is a purebred Yellow Labrador Retriever, birth date May 2000. Both sire and dam were yellow however grandparents on sire’s side did have chocolate in the line. She is registered AKC.
Maize was bred with an apricot standard poodle named Mercy’s Lord Buckingham, birth date February of 2002. Maize whelped our first generation of F1 Labradoodles with 4 females and 5 males in March of 2004. One of the males named Bear is owned by our son and his family. He was the first born and largest male in the litter.
Also from this litter was a female named Blue Belle. Both Bear and Blue Belle are registered CKC. Both are Crème in color, have saber-like tails, medium wavy coats, and are best of friends.
Maize, Blue and Bear continue to have play time together every weekend while running on the sandy beach of Lake Michigan, retrieving drift wood from the lake, or playing tug of war with a favorite stick. All three are compatible, yet when watching them interact, it is easy to observe their natural pack instincts. Of course both Bear and Blue always give Maize first servings in the food bowl as well as choice of where she lies down for the night. Maize on the other hand will give up a fetched stick to either of her puppies to finish the retrieving task. They are all obedience trained and respond very quickly to instructions.
In 2005, Blue Belle was bred with a white standard poodle named Vegas (AKC pedigree name Windmere’s Sin City). Vegas exhibits a calm, good-natured temperament. He is also very intelligent and trained easily. October 31 of 2006, Blue Belle whelped a litter of 8 F1B light crème puppies. 2 males and 6 females.
One of the males named Curlie, has very curly hair and the easy going temperament of his father. Curly has been registered with the CKC and is negative for hip displasia. Curly will be available for stud services beginning November 2006. Please Contact us for additional information.
